SUNDAYS

Casual League Play: 2nd, 3rd, & occasional 5th Sunday of each month

10am - 1pm

Come to battle, trade, or just hang out and talk about Pokemon! If you're new to the game, our professors will be happy to assist you.

Sealed Tournament: 1st Sunday of each month

11am - 3pm (signups 10am - 11am)

Each participant constructs a 30-card deck on-site from the contents of 4 booster packs from the most recent main set (free with cost of entry, subject to set availability) and additional basic Energy cards provided by Games of Berkeley. The participants use those decks to play in the Sealed Tournament.

  • Entry fee: $15
  • Format: Swiss (non-elimination; everyone plays in each round)
  • Prizes: 1 booster pack per win, 1 "bonus" pack if all three matches are won
  • Participants keep all cards from their entry packs

League Challenge: 4th Sunday of each month

11am - 3pm (signups 10am - 11am)

Each participant enters with their own 60-card deck, which must be constructed from cards legal for the current Standard format. (LEARN MORE HERE) In these tournaments, players can earn Championship Points and work toward potentially earning an invitation to the World Championships.

  • Entry fee: $10
  • Format: Swiss (non-elimination; everyone plays in each round), number of rounds depends on number of participants
  • Prizes: 1 booster pack free with entry, pool of store credit for top finishers ($4.50 per participant split between Top 4 or Top 8 in each age division*, based on the number of players in each division), promotional cards for Top 4 of each division
  • Participants keep all cards from their entry packs

* Participants will only be separated into age divisions if the total number of players warrants it. For the 2019-2020 season, those divisions are as follows:

  • Juniors: Born in 2009 or later
