This is a ticket for a D&D 5e Adventure with DM Matt taking place at Games of Berkeley on Wednesday April 24 at 6:00 PM. Although this game is part of an ongoing campaign, new players are welcome each week, and will be quickly caught on the action. Due to theme and content, this game is limited to players 13+.
In a Pangean world tucked away in the realmspace there are three kingdoms that hold emensce power. The kingdom of Daenon a harsh and brutal nation where only the strong are meant to survive, the kingdom of Seriph a nation founded on rules and order where those who stray from the path are harshly punished, and the kingdom of Kingdomlandia which is not actually a kingdom or nation but a set of merchant states and principalities who are loosely allied to keep the other two kingdoms in check. Dragons are stuff of myth and legend, but other than that everything is great! Dragonborn are not born from dragons nor are kobolds, but from lizards. If you wish to play as one of those races please keep this in mind.
This will be an RP heavy campaign. While I like combat, and there will be combat, I find good party dynamics and good rollplaying to be my jam. I find that if players do a great job with the rollplaying and are able to navigate situations well I will often not make them roll - this doesn't mean it happens all the time, but I like to reward things that are well done. I don't want to stifle ideas and I also like for characters to create a little world building (within reason.) While I tell a story I know it's important to tell it together with those I play with. No murder hobos, power gamers, munchkins, or people who think it's fun to steal from the party please. Let's have fun! While people who have had some experience with DnD 5E are preferred it's not required. I will also try to give everyone a chance to have their spotlight given the amount of time and players attending.
What I ask - Create your own character on the point buy system lvl 1. You can use DnD beyond but printed out character sheets preferred. Based on the race that you pick I will assign you to one of the kingdoms and backstory should be worked on after session 1 (I will work with you on this.)
What I will bring - painted mini's, tactical maps, most of the 5e books, some various things I've found helpful for beginner players, as well as dice though you may wish to use your own. If you have a heroforge of your character or some other thing like that I'm happy to get it printed out and painted for use in the game on my dime, but remember that I will have ownership of this mini.
I hope you give it a shot and I look forward to playing with you all!
The game begins at 6:00 PM, so please plan to arrive around 5:45 PM to check in and get settled.
