These games, campaign settings, and accessories are produced by third-party publishers, and are based on the game mechanic system used by Wizards of the Coast for its official Dungeons & Dragons material. Most are intended to augment D&D games, providing additional story settings, monsters, equipment, or character races & classes. Some are explicitly intended to be enjoyed as standalone games, but with enough will and creativity they can be mixed with D&D to strange and unexpected effect.
