TICKET TO RIDE
With elegantly simple gameplay, Ticket to Ride can be learned in under 15 minutes!
If you were looking for a family game to play with multi-generational households, this is it.
Players collect cards of various types of train cars they then use to claim railway routes in North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Over the course of the game, players collect train car cards in order to then claim railway routes on the game board between two city destinations. For example, three blue cards can be turned in for a route that requires three blue trains.
Ideally the players create a network of routes that connect the cities showing on their secret Destination Ticket cards. Players score points both for claiming routes and for completing tickets, with incomplete tickets counting against a player's score.
Ticket to Ride author, Alan R. Moon says "The tension comes from being forced to balance greed – adding more cards to your hand, and fear – losing a critical route to a competitor."
